2008 House Bill 6264

Revise parental rights termination grounds

Introduced in the House

June 19, 2008

Introduced by Rep. Pam Byrnes (D-52)

To revise the conditions that determine whether a parents’ parental rights may be terminated. Under current law, having already had parental rights terminated for another child can be grounds for termination. The bill would specify that the earlier termination had to be for actual child abuse or abandonment.
