2004 House Bill 6357

Assure no-fault auto insurance coverage

Introduced in the House

Nov. 30, 2004

Introduced by Rep. Frank Accavitti (D-42)

To require the Secretary of State to implement a system for cross-checking vehicle registrations and no-fault insurance coverage. Under Michigan’s no-fault insurance law drivers are required to have insurance to register and operate a vehicle, but there is no system to monitor whether the insurance is cancelled after registration.
