2001 Senate Bill 467

Introduced in the Senate

May 9, 2001

Introduced by Sen. William Van Regenmorter (R-22)

To require notice to be sent to the Attorney General of a parole hearing to be held on a “violent predator,” as defined in SB 465. The Attorney General or a designee may give testimony at the hearing. The bill is tie-barred to SB 465, which requires the involuntary commitment to a secure state mental hospital of certain convicted repeat-criminals who meet a definition of “violent predator,” notwithstanding the fact that the person has completed the prison term to which he was sentenced.
